Addressing formats
Cities in addresses should be written in Flemish or French, but not English, even though they are often better known by their English names (see Business Considerations).

Always write the 4-digit postcode to the left of the town or city.

If you are writing a Brussels address and you know the postcode, you need only write the name of the district of Brussels (or communes as they are known).

If a city or town's name has an abbreviation written in brackets after it, this denotes which town it is, because there is another place with the same name. Using the postcode removes the need for using the abbreviation.
